Sensational Saturn

In the year 2017 the Mac class learned a lot about space we did a project with art and writing the writing was based off of a book called Weeds Find A Way by Cindy Jensen-Elliott and the art was a sun drawn in crayon and a yellow water color background it was an informational peace about any planet in the solar system I did mine about Saturn it was a very fun art project.

Asteroids, meteors, space ships, planets, so much to learn about space to put our knowledge together are class made some awesome comics we used an app called comic life 3 and notability in notability you draw your pictures take a screenshot crop and then go in to comic life and past your picture. I did mine about the 7 new planets that scientists found. Because I could not find a picture of them mine is made from the pictures I drew. I hope you read it and you can make one, too!

The Avalanche of Fun at the New Children’s Museum

My class (the Mac class) went to an amazing new museum, it was called the New Children’s Museum. Here’s more about it…

Predicament!

You are sitting in the car looking at a map of The New Children’s Museum what should you do first? Here’s my opinion The New Children’s Museum is a place where your imagination can go wild from high views to card board boxes. But after visiting it I am in awe of 3 things the wonder sound the rain house and the home tourer. And one of the things I liked the most was the wonder sound. When you walk in you will most likely be overwhelmed with all of the drawings, tunnels, ropes secret hideouts and a mountain full more you look right and you see sayings and laters foxes birds and whales you look left and there’s,mats, chains, firefighter poles and pillows and spoons right now you are thinking WOW! Yes wow it is a hurricane of fun and an avalanche of excitement. I highly recommend you there.

This piece was inspired by the children’s museum…

When I lay peacefully on the soft green under countless trees that shade me from the summer son of the red wood forest I remember the day when I was laying here a year ago staring up at the light green canopy. When out of nowhere I saw a fiery red bird winging across the leafs clear as day light I was sure it was real I had saw it I blinked and stared it was gone. I blinked again got up and called “hello” then a huge red bird swept in and let out a calming musical cry. I shrieked and covered my head with my arms prepared for pain but it did not come. I slowly looked up I could not believe it Harry Potter come true it was a real live Phoenix I knew that if a Phoenix turned completely gold then that Phoenix was yours I was staring for a bit to long so I blinked and as soon as I opened my eyes and there stood a completely silver Phoenix. I was confused but as I though about it I had a flash back once my friend had told me that if Phoenix went silver than you were made for each other friends for life.

Endangered Species Project

There are many endangered animals in the wild, And the third graders in our class (the Mac class) wanted to help so we picked an a animal from the endangered animals list, retrieved a partner and got to work. We did research, looked at photos and lastly made an informative fact-filled green screen video. I did mine about polar bears, here’s mine:

The 7 New Planets

Storybird

Wow! I did not know that you could make such a whimsical story in the app Storybird. You scroll through the amazing pictures and find which ones you want to use. There is a limit for your pictures and sometimes that can change your story. Then push create and start writing!

I hope you check out my Storybird story. P.S. Feel free to try it too.

Two Voice Poem

One day on Monday we took a look at a two voice poem. ”What’s that?” What?” We were all confused. Then our teacher told us that it was a poem but two people were talking to each other. Then she read a two voice poem by Paul Fleischman called Fireflies. It was a beautiful poem. Then are teacher said, “You know we will be doing this too, but it will be two animals from the ocean because we’ve been studying the ocean.” “Let’s get started,” so we got started writing.

My Wonderful Experience

My class and I went to the beautiful lagoon on Wednesday. We brought a bag filled with everything we might need including a notebook for taking field notes. We saw many unique things and it was very peaceful. The first thing I saw was a bee hive in the side of a rocky hill. Bees were bustling in and out of the hive making the sound buzz buzz buzz. The second thing I saw was a lizard on a warm rock. It looked at us one by one. It was very camouflaged and then it scurried in the tangled brown hedges. The third thing I saw was the most interesting to me, it was a cloudy white snowy egret flying majestically the the ground next to a pool of brackish water like a white snowflake. I am glad I went on this wonderful field trip.

A Butterfly’s Journey

I was inspired to do this one day at school when we were taking pictures of our playground (my favorite picture is at the bottom of the page) so I decided to do some writing about it and I decided to do science writing, it was going to be about monarchs. It is a milkweed because monarch love flowers. I tried my hardest.

A butterfly lands on a green luscious bed of milkweed
and lays her eggs on the best of leaves.
She lets the cool breeze lift her to the skies,
in a while a baby caterpillar will hatch from the egg. Time passes and…
One misty morning the caterpillar pokes its head out of the egg.
It begins eating and eating
soon the caterpillar is as big as a fat pencil.
It inches its way to the bottom of the leaf
It hangs upside down and turns into a chrysalis.
One afternoon a wet wobbly butterfly steps out on the leaf.
It opens its wings and closes them
It takes flight and sets into the air
When it feels a cool breeze, a sign of winter, it starts out for Mexico
When she gets there she settles on a tree to rest
On the way back she mates then dies
and the whole cycle will happen again.

Ava’s Epic Product Review

On Thursday we got to take home my iPad to take pictures of are favorite thing we we got for Christmas. We are going to do a product review. A product is toy. A review is something that you review, review means to tell about something or why you like it. The reason we did a product review is so we could get other people interested in a toy for example: a mom doesn’t know what to give to her daughter for her birthday she can look on a product review to see. I made a product review, please check it out!

The Gray Whale

My class went to the natural history museum to see different ecosystems. I saw the desert, wetland, and more.  Finally I looked around the corner and I saw a huge whale skull. I wanted to know everything about it.

So I read about it. I gathered so much information on the gray whale. Here are some of the things I learned.  Gray whales have little creatures on their backs and heads called barnacles. When barnacles rub off that makes it gray. Whales almost got instinct because fishermen were killing them for their oil. And gray whales have big dorsal fins. Gray whales go on a huge migration from Alaska to Mexico. In Mexico they have babies and they mate. Then they go to Alaska to eat. So if you want to go and find more information go ahead explore and learn.
